Today arives the 7th Jensen model #50 power plant steam engine that I've had the honor to track down. I aquired this one and it arrived in better condition than I expected. It is very dirty and will need some professional strength cleaning and polish to make her shine again. Two immediate observations I made. 1) it has some sort of custom cylinder head oiler. 2)it has a drip tube under the piston. That I know was made by Jensen because it's the third one I've seen to have one. The oiler on the other hand I've never seen. Should I leave it or scrape it putting this Beauty back to original condition. Check it out. A 1st look video the cleaning begins. Thanks for watching. Jensen #20 Deluxe Power Plant limited restoration is complete. Welcome to the channel. This is the Jensen #20 Deluxe Big Power Plant after it's initial cleaning and inspection. We completed a limited restoration. It is 100% complete and as it was in 1932. This engine has a Chromalox Heater and is the Slide-D Valve type. It is the only one of this type to exist. It is a very special steam engine and www.SteamEnginesUSA.com is very honored to have it as part of our collection. The 6 inch boiler was not made from 3 inch brass pipe but was actually rolled and formed from a flat sheet. Check out the other videos to see this up close. It truly is a one of a kind engine. We have a huge collection of engines owned by my friend Randy. His goal is to own one of each Jensen #10 built from 1932 until present. 11 are #10's and 3 are big power plants. Last one is my Jensen Deluxe #20 Big Power Plant he worked on. Did an awesome job. It is 100% complete and the only one that exists. See my other video on the #20 Deluxe Big Power Plant for review. These #10s walk us from present day version of the #25G, to #10's from the 1980's, 1970's, 1960's, 1950's, 1940's, and 1930's. The three big power plants are from 1932, to mid 1930's. This is a limited production engine that was produced in the late 90's and mid 2000's in limited quantities. The final production date was in 2005. This engine has been a "Ghost". An engine that exists but had not been seen for 22 years.
A surviving 85G, especially this one from Israel, is one of the most rare Jensen's models to find. It is highly sought by collectors. This one began life as a special order for Robotech Limited of Israel back in 2004-2005. Jensen was able to verify its production and still has the original invoice showing 15 being built and shipped.
I was told there where a total of around 100 Jensen 85G models built.
Through the power of the internet, this is one of just 15 engines that were found by an auction company. There were still in the original boxes and had never been resold. The original plastic bag containing steam oil, funnel, dry fuel tabs, pop up valve, flywheel spring, and manual were still sealed.
What an extraordinary find to say the least. It is a collectors dream.
